"Sean was very easy to work with and advised us on a repair which was substantially cheaper than a replacement. The works were carried out around our schedule and we’re very happy with the results. I would highly recommend Darmody Club Care for any of your club’s needs."

We are very happy with the works carried out by Sean this year ahead of the mid final. We were all on a deadline and Sean was happy to work with with Moycarkey Borris GAA club and help getting our ground in top shape for the day. We are very happy with the result.

Common issues with sports netting

Spot, Stop and Save

Some of the most common issues we see with sports netting usually start out small. Just like a chip in your windscreen, it can often be stopped early, preventing larger damage and in-turn, saving you money. Small tears put pressure on sections of net not designed to take the tension, weakening the nets and providing a point of least resistance for it to continue tearing

Improper and aging ropes

Improper ropes often decay after a couple of years of being exposed to weather, as both the sun and rain cause accelerated decay, as well a loss in their ability to provide sufficient tension. Tree branches and any other structures around nets are a number one reason for damage caused by constant abrasion eventually leading to tears and damage

Stretch and Sag

With time the knots in the net stretch and can sag naturally over time it often times doesn't sacrifice the straight of the net but it can increase the belly of the net making it much more likely to come into contact with nearby objects and even at times the goal posts. Many times its a very straight forward fix with proper tension of top ropes but should be recognized as a possible issue for your sports netting

The Human Factor

And finally, an almost unavoidable issue is people climbing, pulling and hanging out of ball stops nettings, which can lead to sag, loss of tension, tears and overall deterioration of the nets. There are solutions and preventions for all of these issues, but the thing they all have in common is the sooner the problem is identified and fixed, the less damage will be done and the cheaper it will be
